Yesterday, we celebrated Independence Day across the United States.
This year marked 250 years since the nation's founding in 1776, a milestone that reminds us that freedom is something people dreamed about, sacrificed for, and intentionally built over generations.
While we celebrate our country's freedom, it also made me think about another kind of freedom...
The freedom to choose how you spend your time.
The freedom to build something meaningful.
The freedom to create opportunities for your family.
The freedom to serve others while creating a life you love.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that freedom rarely happens by accident.
It is built one decision at a time.
One book.
One mentor.
One difficult conversation.
One investment.
One business.
One courageous step.
When I left the Broward Sheriff's Office years ago, I didn't know exactly what the future would look like.
I simply knew there was another version of my life waiting for me if I was willing to keep moving forward.
Today, I get to wake up every morning doing work that fills my heart while still being present for my family.
That doesn't mean every day is easy.
It simply means every difficult day has purpose.
