Learning to Let Go — Slowly

We’re planning summer.

New travels. New experiences. New memories.

And I’m adjusting to something I didn’t fully prepare my heart for — my soon-to-be adult son saying he’s not coming.

He will officially be an adult before summer, and while part of me wants to say, “You’re coming because you’re my child,” I know he deserves to be treated like the man he is becoming.

It’s hard.

In my eyes, he is still my baby. And the thought of traveling without him hurts more than I expected. But growth requires space. And loving your children well sometimes means allowing them to stretch their wings.

So I’m learning to balance life as a mom of a soon-to-be adult. I’m learning to respect his decisions. I’m learning to show up as the best version of myself in his eyes — not controlling, not holding on too tight — but trusting the values we’ve instilled.

Motherhood evolves. And I’m evolving with it.

I’ll be sharing a photo of our family from a recent outing below. These moments matter more than ever.

41 and Feeling… Warm 😫

I also turned 41.

And let’s just say — my body has decided to introduce me to new experiences.

Mood changes. Feeling unnecessarily hot. Wondering if I’m still recovering from conference week… and realizing it’s something else entirely.

My older friends have already started educating me, but at first I was confused.

So yes, pray for me.

Life doesn’t slow down, but we can slow down for ourselves.
