A Gentle Start to a Powerful Year
The first week of 2026 has been about slowing down — not because there’s nothing to do, but because clarity requires space.
This year, I’m learning to say more no’s.
No to overcrowded schedules.
No to distractions.
No to anything that pulls me away from who I’m called to be.
And in doing so, I’m creating more room to say yes —
Yes to changing more lives.
Yes to deeper impact.
Yes to becoming a better human being, leader, and servant.
Sometimes slowing down is the most strategic move you can make.
What I’m Being Intentional About This Year
As I step into 2026, I’m spending time pinpointing what truly matters.

This year, I’m choosing intention over pressure.
I’m also focusing deeply on spiritual growth and healing my inner child — because leadership starts within. When we heal, we lead differently. When we grow inwardly, our impact outwardly expands.
Presence, People, and Precious Moments
One of my biggest commitments this year is being available — emotionally, spiritually, and relationally.
Available to listen.
Available to hold space.
Available to show up for deeper relationships.
Life is so precious, and sometimes we don’t fully admire that until something shakes us. I don’t want to wait for a moment like that to slow down and appreciate what’s already here.
I’ve been intentionally scheduling self-care routines, creating white space on my calendar, and staying open to discovering whatever God wants to reveal next. I want to be present enough to see it.
Family Life and New Rhythms
School is about to reopen, which means back-to-school rituals are in full swing — including doing the children’s hair, resetting routines, and easing back into structure.
I also spent time with family and friends over the holidays, and I hope you did too. There is something grounding about reconnecting with people who know you beyond titles and responsibilities.
And of course, I made two big pots of soup — a tradition that never fails.
Neighbors, family, and friends gathered — some I see only once a year — but the soup brings us together faithfully every time. I’m incredibly grateful for that.
